Mulch & Time Traveling??

We use mulch to retain moisture in the soil, suppress weeds, and keep the soil cool.  Organic mulch also helps improve the soil's fertility as it decomposes. 
On a personal note: I have a love affair with mulch.  One sniff and I'm transported in time to my childhood in Reston, Virginia...6 years old having fun in the playground that was shaded with tall trees and lots of mulch!  (Scents are great time machines for traveling)
The smell is absolutely intoxicating!! Go ahead...take a sniff...
