More Facts

We began planting in February 2011.  Some plants we put in as small plants and others were seeds.

An interesting fact about some of the seeds is that they are from India.  My cousin Dolly brought some seeds to us at our request from her husband's working farm in India.  That was about 5 years ago!  We froze them and waited to plant them.  Well, guess what?  A couple of them the dhania (cilantro), palak (spinach), and pindi (okra)  are growing the fastest and strongest so far!  Amazing right?  The kerala (bittermelon) is still not up.  There was also a bag she brought that wasn't labeled so we planted a row of "unknown Indian" and are excited to see what comes up!

Everything else are organic seeds and organic plants.

The babies (as they are affectionately known ) have already weathered freezing temperatures twice since they were planted!  We tucked them in under blankets so they were nice and cozy.  They've also experienced 2 nice rains as well.  They are doing well.  However there is an area along the south side that is always shaded, the only ones that have grown there are the snap peas.  Hopefully as the sun rises higher in the sky with spring here this month, that area will also start thriving.

Note:  we both did some energy work and set intention before we started planting.  The dirt and ground is infused with love and harmony therefore the plants and seeds are infused with love and harmony therefore when we eat these precious plants...our food... we will be infused with love and harmony.... We are what we eat and so it is...
